Where possible, store products out of direct sunlight in a cool place. Do not expose the formula to unnecessary air or moisture. Our products have a shelf life of 36 months unopened and 12 months opened, when stored out of direct sunlight in a cool place, and the formula is not regularly exposed to unnecessary air or moisture.

Our formulas have been created without ingredients such as sulfates, parabens and phthalates, and are dermatologically tested and fully safety compliant. However—as when adding anything new to your body and haircare routine during pregnancy or breastfeeding—always read the label and check with your doctor if you’re unsure.

While our products are designed primarily for use by adults, they are safe for children under 12. They should not be used on children 3 years and under.

Unfortunately True products aren’t formulated especially for sensitive or irritated skin/scalp, so we’re not able to recommend any of our lines for those concerns. We’d recommend looking for products that are specially formulated for sensitive and/or irritated scalp, if you’re not already!

Yes, all True products are dermatologically tested.

Our products undergo several rounds of testing and formulation, including but not limited to dermatological testing, stability testing, microbiological testing, preservative efficacy testing, heavy metal testing, as well as post-production consumer testing. It’s important to us that our products and their ingredients don’t undergo animal testing, and so True is Leaping Bunny approved by animal protection and advocacy organisation Cruelty Free International.

All 3 True shampoo & conditioner scents are suitable for all hair types.

Our formulas are considered gentle on hair and color safe, as they don't contain common ingredients such as sulfates that can cause color to fade prematurely.

Our formulas contain an amount of sodium chloride which is typically not recommended for use after keratin treatments.

While not specifically formulated for extensions and/or weaves, the True range is gentle and sulfate free and therefore should be suitable to use as part of your usual routine on both your natural hair and your weave.

Unfortunately, True products aren't formulated especially for dandruff. We'd recommend looking for products that are specially formulated for dandruff and/or sensitive scalp, if you’re not already.

While our products contain some natural ingredients and naturally derived ingredients, they are not all-natural or made from only natural ingredients.

Yes, all fragrance and potential allergens are disclosed on our labels as per regulatory frameworks, and are under safe limit according to IFRA Standards. The IFRA Standards ban, limit or set criteria for the use of certain ingredients, based on scientific evidence and consumer insights. If you are concerned about particular ingredients, we recommend a skin or scalp patch test before use.

Our fragrance is not considered natural but can confirm it meets IFRA certification and the formula is dermatologically tested to ensure it’s safe to use. If you have any known allergies, we’d suggest a patch test or consult your healthcare professional for advice.

Some of our formulas contain sodium chloride, which is a type of salt. However, the amount of sodium chloride in our formulations is low and won’t form a high concentration of saline during use, nor should they cause dry skin/scalp.

Hexyl cinnamal is not intentionally added to our formulations, but it may be a by-ingredient in some fragrance. In this case, the percentage of hexyl cinnamal would be no higher than 0.01%.

No! True does not contain any soy extracts/ingredients in any of our products, including body wash, shampoo or conditioner formula.

Yes! All True bottles are recyclable once fully finished. We recommend rinsing them of any residue product before adding to your recycling system.

True products do not contain any animal-derived ingredients, and therefore are suitable for use by vegans.

Our products do not contain ingredients that are potentially harmful to reefs (such as oxybenzone, homosalate, octinoxate, cyclopentasiloxane, octisalate, octocrylene or parabens) and therefore are considered reef-safe.

While there isn’t a standard definition of ’biodegradable’, we are in the process of attaining a full analysis of our products’ speed of biodegradability and will make this available in due course.

Our products don’t contain ingredients which are known to cause septic system issues, such as antibacterial chemicals, disinfectants, chlorine bleach, methylisothiazolinone. Therefore they’re considered septic-safe.
